I treat individuals and couples in both short problem-focused therapy and in longer-term intensive therapy.  How we work together depends on your goals and preferences.   I draw on my knowledge, skills, and experience to best meet your needs while considering your personal, family, and cultural background.  I have significant experience and comfort working with individuals and couples of various socio-economic levels, ethnic backgrounds, and differing sexual orientations and identities.

My aim is to provide a safe space in which to explore the issues and problems you are facing.   I offer you respect, compassion, and understanding as we collaborate to help you achieve the changes you desire and a more satisfying life.  Those who have worked with me say that they appreciate my active and engaged style, my empathy, insight, and willingness to meet them in a genuine and non-judgmental manner.

I work with individuals on a wide array of concerns and problems.  I often help people through life transitions, relationship issues, work and career stresses, as well as in dealing with depression and anxiety.  Illness, loss, infertility, parenting challenges, and family relationships are other frequent topics in my office.

Couples’ issues often involve communication differences, concerns about intimacy, commitment, and infidelity, as well as frequent conflict or tension. My experience ranges from working with unmarried couples trying to sort out whether to continue a relationship to those in longstanding marriages.

Every situation and individual is different, so part of my role is to collaboratively determine what type of help is most appropriate.  I truly love my work and consider it a privilege to be able to make such a difference in people’s lives.
